Where Is Cemetery Junction?

Also known as Newtown, Cemetery Junction is in East Reading just outside the town centre and before Woodley. At the junction of the A4 (London Road) and the A329 (Wokingham Road) is the Cemetery, hence the name 'Cemetery Junction'. The area includes Palmer Park, Kennetside and Erleigh Road, the map below shows the area:

The area has a typical inner city mix of people living in it and is also a popular area with students, being quite close to Reading University and in fact the 'Upin Arms' is a very popular student theme pub.

Using The Site

The site is organised into sections to make it easy to navigate around. Here is a quick explanation of some of the sections.

Community Groups - This is an area that lists local community groups and their activities. If you are a community organiser and would like details of your group listed you can submit them here. The listings include meeting times and places for the groups where appropriate and full contact information.

Events - This section aims to provide a listing of events taking place in and around the area, or events where residents of the area are welcome. If you are an event organiser and would like your event listed you can submit the details here too.

Noticeboard / Forum - If you are giving something away or selling items of small value - this is the place to add the details. If you are looking for something it's worth seeing if what you want is listed here. There is also a Lost / Found section where you can post details of anything lost or found including pets.

Lend a Hand - This section is aimed at getting together volunteers with people that need their help. If you can offer to walk somebody's dog, pick up some shopping or give somebody a hand with something then why not list yourself as a volunteer? If you require simple assistance such as the above then place a request for help here and hopefully a volunteer will contact you if available.
